THIS POSITION REQUIRES SOMEONE WHO IS ABLE TO COMMUTE TO OUR CAMBRIDGE MA OFFICE 1-2 DAYS/MONTH.

The Manager of Marketing Operations is a member of Akebia's Commercial Excellence team reporting to the Sr Director of Commercial Excellence. This role will play an integral part in supporting the commercial team and maintain key processes enabling Akebia's goals. The primary responsibility of this individual will be operational management of the promotional material review (PRC) process and Sponsorship Process (SRC) in accordance with FDA regulations, Akebia guidelines, and PhRMA guidelines. Prior experience in PRC management and oversight for launch execution is highly desired. Additional responsibilities will include coordination of the print/production and fulfillment process, oversight of third-party vendors, and support key commercial projects for launch effectiveness.



  • Facilitate the end-to end promotional materials review (PRC) process and sponsorships review process (SRC), ensuring efficient workflows and timely approvals.
  • Manage the submission, tracking, and review of materials in the content management system (Promomats), collaborating closely with Regulatory, Legal, and Medical (MLR) teams to meet industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Oversee the print/production and fulfillment process including fulfillment portal system implementation, and process documentation. Define, track, and report metrics related to print fulfillment to ensure ongoing process optimization, issue resolution, and material volume production and usage. Manage print/fulfillment vendor relationship
  • Facilitate the day-to-day operational and project management activities related to the sponsorship and donation processes (i.e., intake, review, tracking, change of scope, reconciliation, closeout and reporting processes) Deploy promotional assets in support of local and regional sponsorships, exhibits and field presence at conferences.
  • Coordinate across commercial team to prioritize assets, manage timelines, and ensure the accurate documentation and versioning of all promotional and sponsorship materials.
  • Compile and deliver quarterly and annual metrics and insights for the PRC and Sponsorship Committee, tracking volume, approval timelines, compliance adherence, and impact on commercial initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive commercial initiative project plans, outlining timelines, resource requirements, and milestones of key projects within the commercial team (ei: label updates, Brand planning, launch management, etc...)
  • Support key initiatives within commercial excellence through effective project management, including field training, meetings and events, speaker's bureau, sales enablement, and commercial operations.


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in marketing operations, sales training, or commercial enablement in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry.
  • Knowledge of promotional material review processes and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in content management systems for materials review (e.g., Veeva Promomats) and sponsorship management systems and other project management tools. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrable project management skills: proven ability to manage multiple tasks to conclusion, within allotted timelines/deadlines, and without compromise to quality of work

  • Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic


Compensation:

Targeted Base: 133,102-164,420*

*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company's total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
