About This Role The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Health Information Specialist to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of all medical records for the VHC. This position provides support to the clinical staff by performing real-time auditing services/charge capture during the episode of care and in within the patient care area. The person in this role should possess critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively during times of high patient volume. Excellent communication and organization skills are utilized daily. This position will also serve as primary support for the hospital information system, Instinct, assisting students and staff as help and training as needed. Cross training and providing back up coverage at the client services desk is also an expectation of this position. Working hours will be primarily daytime but will vary based upon department needs.
