Job Objective(s):

Responsible to assist in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident's social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs. Part-time hours on the weekend.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year activities experience preferred in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
  • Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
  • Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident's best interest.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good work ethic
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for assisting with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.

  • Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
  • Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
  • Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
