Summary

In collaboration with Psychiatry senior leadership, other departmental programs, LVHN and the community at large, manages a behavioral health program that fosters access, clinical excellence, positive patient satisfaction and outcomes, staff satisfaction and development, safety and quality, and fiscal soundness in the provision of care.

Job Duties

  • Manages a behavioral health program which fosters access, clinical excellence, positive patient satisfaction and outcomes, safety and quality, and assures compliance with departmental, regulatory, licensing, and third-party policies and standards.
  • Manages effective recruitment, orientation, competency, performance, and supervision systems for program staff. Special attention is paid to fostering a climate that promotes teamwork and focused collaboration around behavioral healthcare, as well as opportunities for staff initiative and growth
  • Develops program budgets, closely monitors / addresses problems in financial performance to meet fiscal goals, and seeks opportunities to improve productivity, revenue enhancement and cost containment.
  • Provides direct patient care, as required, in compliance with professional and departmental standards
  • In collaboration with Psychiatry senior leadership, supports constructive linkages with other Psychiatry programs, other LVHN departments and the community at large, in the provision of behavioral healthcare services

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years in a behavioral health clinical setting
  • Demonstrated clinical, supervisory, administrative, and fiscal skills
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, especially in the areas of communication with patients (eg de-escalation) and staff
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health systems and community resources
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • LSW - Licensed Social Worker - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
