Job Summary:

Southwest Healthcare is seeking a Manager of Payer Strategies who will assist the Regional Managed Care Director with Payer Contracting and Payer Relations This is a fully remote position. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Assist in overseeing and maximizing the performance of UHS managed care contracted business in accordance with sound health care and fiscal management practices.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory of managed care contracts and renewal timelines.

  • Manage confidential hospital insurance rate information and works on special projects as needed.

  • Assist Regional Director of Managed Care with all delivery system Managed Care projects, steering committees, and all regional revenue cycle and denials management committees.

  • Minimal travel may be needed based on business needs.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in healthcare contracting and negotiations in an ASC setting required. Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience preferred.

  • None

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in addition to excellent Microsoft Office skills and a working knowledge of Managed Care processes and payer rate methodology.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently and meet all time-sensitive correspondence.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices sufficient to maximize revenue generated from these sources.

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare finance practices and methods.

  • Demonstrated managed care contract negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required in imparting and developing contract negotiation practices to Acute Care hospital executive management staff.
