Las Vegas, NV - E Brooks (ADI) - Dry-ice logistics How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Airgas Dry Ice is the largest wholesale dry ice distributor to grocery stores in the United States. Penguin Brand Dry Ice is the retail dry ice sales program of Airgas Dry Ice. We serve over 4,000 grocery stores on a direct store delivery basis coast to coast.

What you will do:

The Distribution Supervisor will report to the Distribution Manager and share responsibility for the critical issues of branch operations, distribution, and profitability including: safety, sales, sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, operating expenses, customer service, inventory, equipment, building and vehicles, community relations, accounts receivable and resolution of personnel issues.

This role does require an active CDL as the Supervisor will have routes that he/she/them will need to cover. One year of CMV experience within the past 4 years is required.

  • Ensure Safety is the #1 priority daily by using all company SOP's, Standards and Processes in place.

  • The schedule is Monday through Friday 5:00 AM to 2 PM. After hours work, to include weekends will be required depending on operational needs.

  • Direct responsibility for assigning and building daily routes, making adjustments as needed.

  • Ensure daily truck and MHE Inspections are being done daily by verification of current methods. (Google sheets, etc.)

  • Ensure any required monthly SMS training is completed on time and documented in accordance with Airgas Policy. This also includes review of Safety Blasts, Lessons Learned and any other training that arises on an as needed basis.

  • Load/unload route trucks as needed, service Will Call customers (When union personnel not able to perform function if needed) Please note, that this position will require work both in the office and outside as needed depending on business need. Work will be both inside and outside depending on business needs.

  • Ensure proper ice rotation is occurring (Verify work/information being turned in by loading staff)

  • Address various Distribution related issues that may occur on a daily basis, some of the following items are examples that may occur, but is not inclusive of every scenario that could occur:

    • Incorrect product delivery by a driver

    • Driver callouts/break downs

    • Rush delivery requests

    • Truck breakdowns/repairs

    • Schedule MHE/Truck maintenance as needed for compliance

    • Maintain maintenance records as needed for both MHE and Truck/Trailer equipment

    • Assist in investigations and discipline when needed

    • Conduct monthly driver meetings (Separate from SMS/Safety Trainings)

    • Conduct random audits/observations on drivers/loaders to ensure safety and compliance

    • Other various duties as needed/assigned

  • Assist in maintaining the security of the facility

  • Consistently reinforce the 5S model all around the facility. (Everything has a place and should be labeled)

  • Provide input to the manager for performance reviews.

  • Review required reports for metrics and compliance

    • Weekly PM reports

    • Weekly Open PO reports

    • Monitor Open PO's so that they do not get to the Over 60 Open PO report

    • Weekly compliance report for drivers (DQ and other related items)

  • Daily review of the Geotab dashboard

    • Check for Unidentified Driver Logs

    • Check for HOS Violations

    • Check for missed VIR's

    • Other metrics as needed/directed

  • Other office duties that will be required as needed are below. These included but are not limited to:

    • Functional knowledge in SAP

    • Functional knowledge to be able to order ice loads on a weekly basis

    • Able to approve orders in EDS for processing into SAP for billing

    • Creating/editing delivery orders as needed

    • Communicate information as needed to drivers needed

  • Arrange common carriers as needed.

  • Respond to customer/internal emails

  • Answer office phones

  • Work cohesively with the production department to solve issues as needed (Outages, delays, etc)

  • Perform other duties as needed/required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have basic computer knowledge to include: Microsoft Word and Excel. Also be knowledgeable in Google Mail, Sheets and Documents. 25 WPM minimum typing is a plus but not required.

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communications and time management skills are a must.

  • Ability to work independently and interact with other departments

  • Knowledge of basic DOT rules.

  • Class A/B license is required.

  • Excellent attendance is required

  • Willingness to be available for after hours calls as needed

  • Willingness to work remotely if needed (finishing work from home if needed, etc.)

  • Willingness to work weekends if business needs dictate the necessity.

  • This position reports directly to the branch manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Experience in routing/routing analysis/efficiencies

  • ELD experience required

  • Experience with the CA BIT requirements

  • Forklift/MHE certification preferred

  • SAP experience helpful

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to enforce/implement SOP's, Policies and Procedures

  • Conduct required company training

  • Computer proficiency required (Google Suite, Microsoft Office as needed)

  • Prior driving experience is required

  • Be organized

  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment is a MUST!
