Job Description

  • Provide results of searches that have been executed for various topic areas. Based on these results, Candidate will order and obtain electronic articles through the appropriate designated resources (e.g., in-house article sourcing databases). As the number of articles may be large and article fulfillment may be staggered over time, Candidate is accountable for tracking the status of articles obtained for a given search results set.
  • Upon receipt of individual articles, Candidate will load electronic copies of each article into the ALCS literature management platform. In doing so, Candidate will also add required meta-data for each article to include bibliographic and other information. Generally, required meta-data will be governed by templates in the ALCS Literature Management Platform.
  • For articles that are not available in electronic format due to copyright or other constraints, Candidate shall notify and add relevant meta-data regarding the article status to the Literature Management Platform for that article.
  • Candidate shall provide periodic updates on status of article ordering and acquisition.
  • Candidate will be responsible for assuring the quality of meta-data it adds into the Literature Management Platform for each article. The platform is designed to enable Candidate QC activities to be performed in the platform. Configure the platform to support efficient execution of deliverables, including agreed upon QC activities.
  • Candidate will generate reports of articles and related article meta-data from the Literature Management Platform. This may include reports intended for internal ALCS personnel or reports needed to facilitate additional review of articles. Candidate will work with to ensure that the content and format of reports conforms with style or other requirements. When needed, will work with candidate to generate complex reports that might require engagement of other personnel or adaptations to the Literature Management Platform.
  • Candidate will be responsible for assuring the quality of any reports generated. ALCS will work with candidate to configure the platform to support efficient execution of deliverables, including agreed upon QC activities.
  • Candidate will use articles and/or article meta-data in the Literature Management Platform to prepare a Word-based bibliography of articles within a designated topic area. The format of such bibliography, and the schedule for delivery, will be discussed and agreed upon with client.
  • Candidate will export bibliographic information from the Literature Management Platform into a centralized citation management database (e.g., EndNote). Candidate will work with to ensure that the content and format of the bibliographic information exported into the citation management database conforms with style or other requirements.
  • Candidate will also assist with the management and QC of information in the ALCS citation management database. This may include creating custom groups of citations within the database or exporting citations from the database for ALCS.
  • Candidate will provide other literature-related support for regulatory submissions. This may include assembling and preparing collections of electronic article copies for provision to external entities. Candidate may need to verify that the designated article copies are permissibly provided (e.g., through verifying copyright clearance status or obtaining an additional such copy). This may also include preparing zip or other compressed files of articles.
  • Candidate will participate in teleconferences or other meetings with to discuss the planning for or status of candidate services and deliverables.


Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Significant knowledge and work experience in relational databases or other managed document review platforms.
  • Significant knowledge and work experience with citation management software such as EndNote.
  • Significant knowledge and work experience in MS Office skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to (project) manage multiple and changing timelines.
