Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring the productivity of the program by researching and resolving deficiencies in performance and providing responses to complex questions and requests according to standards and policies.



Essential Functions:

    Performs internal audits of a technical discipline to verify records are incompliance with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Coordinate with the management team to evaluate and monitor program efficacy.
  • Maintain system accountability for meeting standards established by Southwest Key Workforce, Board, TWC, and other applicable agencies.
  • Provide ongoing critical review of existing staff training and development resources.
  • Provide technical assistance to Center Staff and Management on relevant data entry processes and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge regarding all Workforce Development programs and services.
  • Evaluates responses to inspection reports and performs follow-up with case managers, management, or others, to ensure resolution.
  • Notifies center management of quality/compliance trends and service failures.
  • Mentors center staff and internal customers with interpretation of regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and other guidance, as applicable.


Other Functions:

  • Travel to attend meetings, training and other activities.
  • May facilitate group orientations.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Prefer Bachelor's degree with 1 year previous work experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Requires 60+ college credit and 3 years of program experience, or quality assurance experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel with ability to perform basic word processing and data entry.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with the communities being served.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.

Preferred

  • Previous experience with TWIST software system.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas.
  • While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment.
  • Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting.
  • May work extended hours and occasional weekends.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.


Work Environment:

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and local travel, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards.
