Under direct supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, performs various Occupational Therapy activities consisting of evaluating, planning, and establishing individualized treatment plans while awaiting licensure. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Interprets routine provider referrals and evaluates patients in various areas (e.g. independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, psychosocial skills, etc) and formulates individualized treatment plans including regular assessment of progress.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
- Educates patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and how to manage their condition at home
- Proficient in computer applicationsfor patient quality and safety, including Electronic Medical Record documentation, Microsoft products, and cloud-based file storage.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Ensure that all work is approved by a supervising therapist as required by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
- Attends departmental meetings

Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements: Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent degree for foreign graduates. Experience Requirements: 0+ years of experience License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Must obtain Occupational Therapist License from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision within 1 year of hire. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Basic knowledge of equipment, supplies, Home Exercise Programs (HEP), and discharge instructions to facilitate a safe discharge plan.
- Integrates information from multiple sources and able to distinguish what is relevant.
- Utilize communication skills and respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and caregivers in guiding them to assume responsibility for their treatment and development.
- Ability to establish and maintain integrity and trust with patients by advocating in the patient's best interest.
- Basic written and oral communication skills characterized by candor, empathy, compassion, openness, integrity, and ability to be diplomatic.
- Basic ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team while maintaining civility, and good working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and maximized to achieve the vision and mission of the organization.
