Overview

Are you a Registered Nurse ready to join a specialty unit with experienced staff? Our transplant services team is hiring for full-time day and full-time night positions!


Responsibilities

Our Transplant team takes pride in learning opportunities and resources for our nursing staff:

  • We have experienced charge nurses and preceptors, management presence on off-shifts, and a dedicated Nursing Professional Development Specialist
  • Monthly lunch and learns, transplant day education for new staff, and conferences
  • Support to obtain Transplant Certification - International Transplant Nurses Society
  • Virtual Nursing Team that assists bedside nurses with admissions, discharges and more
  • Orient and train to become an expert in cardiac monitoring, interpreting EKG's, a dysrhythmia interpretation with daily transplant rounds
  • Strong relationship with community service opportunities with New England Donor Services (NEDS) that the team takes an active role in
  • Devoted multidisciplinary team approach with 24/7 responsibility - Partners in care: RN's, Liver Service Team, Patient Care Associates, Physicians, APP's, Social Work, Pharmacists and Dieticians

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must have current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire.

EXPERIENCE

Registered Nurse is the foundational job description for all RNs. All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

LICENSURE

Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Requires prolonged standing; walking; use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Will be exposed to physical, mental and emotional illness as well as end of life conditions and death. Moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care. Standing/walking for more than half of the day. Frequently bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and lifting. Must be able to assist pushing/pulling/lifting patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds.
