About the Job

This is a blanket requisition and there may or may not be positions available at this time. These positions are available to persons holding a PhD or Master's degree in areas related to forestry and natural resources.

The positions provide classroom teaching for courses that supplement our faculty offerings and/or expertise of our faculty. Duties vary according to each position, dependent on subject matter. Included in the duties are developing and teaching courses, advising students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations. May provide service-related teaching duties as well. We offer courses in areas including but not limited to remote sensing; policy and economics of natural resources; harvesting; GIS; hydrology; forest ecology; biometrics; urban and community forestry; human dimensions of natural resources; recreation resource management; environmental science; environmental leadership; silviculture.

Job Duties

* Use pedagogical strategies to effectively develop and deliver curriculum and to test the learning objectives for the course(s).
* Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations.
* Provide service-related teaching duties, such as mentoring and supervision of undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants.
* Participate in the decisions related to the policies, courses, and programs in which there is involvement.
* Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise.

Required Qualifications
* Masters degree is required. The appointee is not required to have the same credentials expected of faculty but must have demonstrated competence to teach the course material. Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities may be required.
* Demonstrated commitment to instruction that supports diverse learners and builds inclusive classroom environments.
