Join Bloomberg Industry Group's team of dedicated and creative journalists to launch a legal newsletter specifically for lawyers based in New York. This is your opportunity to own the inboxes of lawyers in the Empire State, covering the legal profession, notable cases, and what it's like to practice in New York. You'll create an engaging and fun product that keeps readers coming back day after day.
What you will do:
  • Report and write news articles and breaking news alerts, often on deadline.

  • Cover news as it happens, live and in person, including at courthouses, state legislatures, and other strategic locations within your assigned region.

  • Pitch, develop and write analytical pieces and feature stories on complicated subjects like tax and legal developments, making them accessible to readers

  • Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.

  • Establish strategic relationships with sources, editors, news desk, etc.

  • Serve as a resource for other correspondents and Washington based reporters.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

You need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in English or journalism preferred.

  • 8-12 years' experience in journalism, including at least one year reporting on subject areas covered by assigned publications.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of journalism principles and techniques.

  • Knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.

  • The ability to cover events live as they happen and meet with sources in-person within the location being covered.

Compensation Range: $78,337.00 - $121,422.00
